Mr. Moxon is a patent attorney who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Maryland College Park and his Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America Columbus Law School in Washington D.C. He formerly worked for the US Patent and Trademark Office, as a Patent Examiner and was a former partner at Roetzel & Andress LPA, Brouse McDowell LPA and Senior Patent Counsel at The B. F. Goodrich Company, Lockheed Martin, Ferro Corporation and BP America.
From his experience, he has learned that he cannot counsel you nearly as effectively as he can in person where he have a chance to learn about your business and issues and be more knowledgeable and effective. Thus, he is willing to come visit you to maximize understanding and provide the most effective services.
He brings insignt into numerous issues since he has been an in-house attorney at several major corporations, including Fortune 500 companies, as well as in private practice. He has represented major corporations, specialty chemicals businesses, and major universities. Mr. Moxon has also handled several European patent oppositions and has also served as IP counsel in acquisitions (nine ranging from $10 million to $300 million) and three divestitures.
Mr. Moxon is a member of the Akron Bar Association (ABA), the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association (CIPLA), the Licensing Executives Society of the US and Canada (LES), the International Associations for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Federation Internationale Des Conseils En Propriete Intellectuellle (FICPI), and the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. Moxon has served on and Chaired numerous boards, including the Weathervane Community Playhouse Theatre and Greenleaf Family Services. He was selected as an "Ohio Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine and Cincinnati Magazine (2007) and The Best Lawyers in America (2013-2017).
Mr. Moxon also has a wonderful family and is an avid golfer.
Brian Harrod is a patent attorney who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Toledo. He also earned his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Toledo, specializing in Intellectual Property Law. Prior to joining Moxon & Associates, Brian worked as a trial attorney throughout Summit County.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and their 3 children.
